MR. IAN THOMAS

 

Ian was born and raised in the United Kingdom for the first twelve years of his life. He moved to Canada where his dad set up and ran a small business. He completed most of his formal education in Canada.

​

Ian holds two BAs from the University of Ottawa (Sociology & Criminology) and an  MA from Carleton University (Criminology). In addition to the degrees, Ian has a CELTA from Cambridge International Examinations.

​

Along with Professor DeKeseredy, Ian developed and delivered a number of corporate training programs directed at womens' safety issues and sexual harassment in the workplace. 

​

Prior to coming to Malaysia Ian spent eight years teaching at Sookmyung Women's University and at Hanyang University in Korea. During this time he taught undergraduates and teachers from the department of education including Korean Military officers.

​

Shortly after coming to Malaysia Ian worked for The British Council as a corporate trainer and then ran his own language school for six years.

​

In the last four years he has has been a Cambridge Examinations Officer at an international school, and a Vice Principal for over one year.

​

All this experience combines to bring ITEC clients a wealth of experience in many fields.

​
